When Irish Eyes are Smiling

Much to Matthew’s chagrin, Jocelyn’s got a considerable amount of Irish heritage despite having the last name Bauer. I was born in the Irish capital of Nebraska, where there’s a giant green concrete Shamrock in the middle of the town’s main intersection. Apparently my Grandfather played an instrumental role in developing the St. Patty’s day tradition there. This pretty much involves a parade with Irish Dancers and lots of drinking. To honor Jocelyn’s roots, her Uncle Brett sent her an Irish hat and Grandma Cindy brought her a shamrock bib so of course she had to wear them for her first St. Patrick’s Day (with Patricia for a middle name, you can’t ignore St. Pat’s). In true Irish style, after I finished taking these pictures, Jocelyn puked all over the bib and then did a face plant smack into the mess.

She’s adorable, and you’re hilarious.
Like I said before. I have a mostly German heritage, and you Irish…thus Jocelyn is Germish.
With all that puking on St. Pats day, she may really be Irish after all!
Irish or not, she is utterly kissable!
Nichole: Thank you very much, on both counts
Matthew: We’ve been through this, germish sounds like she’s dirty or has a lot of bacteria or something else gross.
Tom: And then later than night she puked on me, two different times, once in my hair. Now that’s hard core. I love being a mom. Don’t let baby rest on tummy within 15 minutes of eating.
Andrea: I agree, which explains why I can’t hold her without kissing either her forehead or cheeks. She has an impossibly soft forehead and such sweet giggly cheeks.
Sure’n begorrah she’s a pretty colleen! Grandma Cook laughed & laughed when I read your post to her, she got such a kick out of the term “face plant” that I read it to her again & again. Oh, and I heard an Irish joke: Two Irishmen walked out of a bar………….well, it COULD happen…!
My compliments on the photography. I realize you’re only posting the best pictures, and Jocelyn’s an adorable little subject, but the lighting, composition, and focus are really great in these photos. You’re making a great photographic history of your family. Do lots more. I really like the group pictures with all 3 of you.
